Rangers now ten points out of playoffs

A tough weekend for the injury riddled Kitchener Rangers.

Two losses, first 5-2 on Friday in Saginaw, second 2-1 in Sault Ste. Marie have the Rangers sitting 10 points back of the Plymouth Whalers for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference with six games left on the schedule. The Whalers picked up a point in a 2-1 shootout loss to Barrie on Friday, but easily handled the Windsor Spitfires on Saturday at home with a 5-0 win.

The Rangers were not without effort in the road losses, out shooting both the Spirit and the Greyhounds. But injuries no doubt played a big role. Forwards Justin Bailey and Nick Magyar, as well as defenceman Max Iafrate all missed the road trip.
