Can the type of car you drive affect your driving habits?

You may think that those who drive luxury cars, like Lamborghini’s and Aston Martin’s, may have some of the worst driving habits but a study by Canada’s first online insurance marketplace, Kanetix says it’s not the case.

In a recent study by the company, 71 per cent of drivers who own those vehicles hold a clear driving record.

Natasha Carr, Community Manager and Public Relations Associate with Kanetix.ca tells 570 News that the study also found that “KIA drivers report the highest number of accidents, with 15 per cent having been in an accident over a two year timeframe.”

Drivers who are the most likely to follow the rules of the road:

    Lamborghini,
    Aston Martin,
    Buick, or
    Toyota.

Fourteen per cent of drivers report having been in an accident in the past two years. Drivers of the following vehicles are more likely than average to report having been in an accident:

    Ford,
    Hyundai,
    Infiniti,
    Lexus,
    Mazda, or
    Nissan.

Twenty-two per cent of drivers admit to having been issued at least one ticket in the past two years. Drivers of the following types of cars are more likely to have past tickets:

    BMW,
    Land Rover,
    Lincoln, and
    Porsche.
