Kitchener man played in Stompin’ Tom’s band

Kitchener’s Al Widmeyer played banjo for Stompin’ Tom from 2006 until his last tour in 2011.
Widmeyer says “The man, was a man of the land…hell of a nice guy and he always treated me real good.”
He was able to visit with him last month when Connors celebrated his 77th birthday.

The pair were introduced at Boot Records, where they both recorded music.
