Snyder’s-Lance moving Cambridge work to Guelph

An update on a story we had for you yesterday morning.

U-S-based Snyder’s-Lance announced this week it plans to close its sugar wafer plant in Cambridge in May as part of a cost-cutting move.

The Record now reports the company plans to move that work to its plant on Southgate Drive in Guelph.

Roughly 100 people currently work at the Cambridge facility and it’s not clear how many of those people may land jobs in Guelph.

The company has said there may be opportunities for those displaced staff members at its other facilities.
