The 570 News Weather Centre is closely tracking a storm moving up from the U-S today.

Environment Canada says it will begin as rain today with the potential for a brief spell or freezing rain or snow.

It says the rain will likely change or become mixed with snow tomorrow.

In southern Ontario, it says the heaviest snow is expected in the traditional snow belt areas to the southeast of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay.

Even more snow – up to 25 centimetres – is expected in northeastern Ontario.

570 News Weather Specialist John Wilson expects our region to receive around 5 centimetres of snow.
