Elmira’s Garrett Rank could be playing at next year’s Masters.
The University of Waterloo product heads into the 36-hole final of the US Mid-Amateur Championship in Illinois this morning. Play gets underway at 8am Eastern Time.
The member of Team Canada will face Pittsburgh’s Nathan Smith.
Rank won his three opening matches and then defeated Matthew Mattare 3 and 2 on Wednesday.
The winner of the final will likely receive an exemption for the 2013 Masters.
Rank sent out the following message on Twitter following his win on Wednesday…”Thanks for all the support guys.. this is pretty neat.. two grinding matches today but we got the “W.”
