A tragic fire has left the Lajoie family without a vehicle they depend on most. On July 23 the wheelchair accessible family van burst into flames leaving Dan Lajoie and his family stranded. Dan suffers from spinal muscular atrophy and relies on his wheelchair and vehicle.
Van for Dan is a fundraiser where all proceeds will help with the purchase of a modified van. Sonya Knipfel, Fundraising Coordinator, tells 570 news the family needs genuine help and support.
Today an outdoor boot camp exercise will take place in Lexington Park in order to raise funds for purchasing a new vehicle. The event will begin at 9:30 am in Lexington Park with an admission fee of 5 dollars.
