Kids Can’t Wait Radiothon raises big money for KidsAbility

The Kids Can’t Wait Radiothon for KidsAbility happened Thursday and once again, you were very generous. The event raised $221,280.

570 news, CHYM 96.7 and KIX106 were all set up at Conestoga Mall, while 570’s Jeff Allan show was broadcast live from KidsAbility.

KidsAbility provides rehab services for children in the region as well as Guelph-Wellington.

It is one of only 20 treatment centres in the province and serves children with a wide range of special needs including developmental and physical disabilities, as well as those with communication difficulties.

They serve 5400 children each year.

Christa Hicks is Promotions Manager for the Rogers Kitchener Radio group.

“When you talk to the parents of these children, they are so grateful…” but she adds “you also realize how many local children are still on the waiting list for services.”

Hicks says donations made today really do change the lives of children, and the lives of their parents too.
