BlackBerry World continues

Research in Motion is looking to create excitement about its new BlackBerry 10 platform as the BlackBerry World Conference continues in Orlando.

CEO Thorsten Heins delivered the keynote address yesterday, giving developers a first look at BlackBerry 10.

Managing Director of Research in Motion Canada, Andrew MacLeod tells 570 News, the idea behind the new platform is to make users more successful. “Whether you’re in a business environment as an enterprise customer, whether you’re a consumer customer, however you define success, we want to make you more successful at it. It’s all about enhancing communication,” he says.

Today, developers are getting a hands-on look at BlackBerry 10 with RIM handing out early development versions for them to try. “It’s something that demonstrates our progress and our execution and focus on the BlackBerry 10 platform,” MacLeod explains. “It also allows the development community to start building rich, robust, innovative applications.”

The BlackBerry World conference includes more than 5,000 people from more than 115 countries.
