Luxury luggage maker RIMOWA set to break ground

A luxury luggage maker is expanding operations in Cambridge.
Ground will be broken Thursday morning on the new RIMOWA plant on Vondrau Drive.
Measuring 70,000 square feet, it will be home to over 130 employees and will handle all current manufacturing lines in Canada.
Among those on hand for the event will be officials from RIMOWA’s head office in Germany.
Cambridge Mayor Doug Craig says “RIMOWA has; and will continue to have a great impact on our community and be a shining example of where technology and manufacturing converge to spark innovation.”
Construction is expected to be complete next year.
