Many driving charges for a Cambridge man

Cambridge OPP stopped a distracted driver yesterday evening which lead to many serious charges being laid.

An officer travelling North on Hespeler Road spotted a slow-moving car that was weaving left to right and saw the driver texting while driving.

The officer stopped the car and when the officer approached the driver, detected the odour of alcohol on the mans breath.  

During the investigation police learned the 47-year old was currently out on bail with conditions.

OPP say Gary Jones of Cambridge, was arrested and has been charged with several offences including:

Distracted driving, driving while impaired and operating a motor vehicle with no insurance.

The OPP’s phone in one hand and ticket in the other distracted driving campaign continues this week.
