Courting future doctors

The family doctors of the future: that was the focus of a weekend program hosted by the Greater KW Chamber of Commerce.

15 family medicine residents got a first hand look at living in Kitchener and Waterloo on Saturday, says today’s Waterloo Region Record.

The doctors and their families not only visited hospitals, the St Jacobs farmer’s market, but were also courted by local politicians.

Chamber President and CEO, Ian McLean, tells the Record these young couples likely want to raise families, and the Region is the best place to do it.

Event organizer, Mary Sue Fitzpatrick, says they also focused on job opportunities for the future doctors’ said the opportunity for partners to find a job is most important.
