More job ads

If newspaper ads featuring job openings are any indication, the employment hunt is looking up for local job seekers.
March saw a surge in openings posted in the Waterloo Region Record and the Guelph Mercury.
Metroland West Media Group Director of Classified Advertising, Sandra Lennox tells 570 News it’s a relatively recent trend and they’re guardedly optimistic it’s a sign of even more positive economic times to come.
She says K-W performed exceptionally well, with 13% more listings last month when compared to March of 2009.
It also comes on the heels of a sluggish February for job listings.
She says the openings were varied, ranging from general help to skilled and professional positions.
