Aid slowly getting to quake victims

Aid workers are struggling to get food and water to the millions of earthquake survivors in Haiti.

A Care Canada official has just arrived in a
suburb of Port au Prince and says people are desperate for aid.

There’s mounting fear there could be progressive degrees of violence in the Haitian capital.

Some looters, including young men and boys armed with
machetes have been roaming streets in downtown Port au Prince.

Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister says some restrictions are being lifted to make it easier for foreign aid flights to reach Haiti.

Lawrence Cannon says red tape will be cut so that the foreign aircraft don’t have to wait for the proper paperwork.

Cannon says almost 300 Canadians have already been evacuated.

More 14-hundred remain unaccounted for.
