Kitchener-based Conestoga Meat Packers is getting $2.3 million from the federal government.
Kitchener-Conestoga MP Harold Albrecht made the announcement this morning.
The funding comes from the Harper Government’s
Economic Action Plan’s Slaughter Improvement Program.
The money will help the company renovate its facility and capture new markets in the meat packing industry.
With more than $20 billion in sales, the red meat industry is the single largest employer in the food industry in this country.
