Canadian Blood Services and Habitat for Humanity team up for day

By Christine Clark

Canadian Blood Services and Habitat for Humanity are teaming up.

Local Canadian Blood Services staff will be volunteering on the Habitat Wellington Dufferin Guelph's Cityview Village development Thursday, while Habitat for Humanity staff will be donating blood.

When completed, that development will house 28 local families, including seniors, people with disabilities and low-income earners.

The two organizations hope the partnership will work as a way for them to bring awareness to two distinctly different needs facing Canadians.

Tara Gutscher, Territory Manager for Canadian Blood Services says, “It is so neat to work with another organization who saves lives as well, but in a completely unique way. We are so excited to help with a build, and see the impact we can make in building a home for people. We welcome the Habitat for Humanity staff to our clinic so they can see how their blood donation will impact someone local as well.”
