Companies reporting major news:

BlackBerry Inc. (TSX:BB). Down four cents at $10.61. Blackberry is making a play to integrate itself into smart cities and vehicles by building a new service to provide infrastructure for vehicles and traffic lights to exchange information securely. The Waterloo, Ont.,-based technology company says it will waive the service fees for the product for automakers and public offices involved in smart city and connected vehicle pilots because it says the offering is necessary to ensure users can trust the validity of information received from other systems. The service will first be used in conjunction with Invest Ottawa, which will use it for a 16-kilometre road autonomous vehicle test track resembling a miniature city, complete with pavement markings, traffic lights, stop signs and pedestrian crosswalks.

Badger Daylighting Ltd. (TSX:BAD). Up $2.23 or 7.1 per cent at $33.59. A director who served for 25 years on the board of Badger Daylighting said he’s resigning over its decision not to bring to its investors a secret takeover proposal made last summer. David Calnan, a Calgary lawyer who has been on the board since 1993, said Monday the way it dealt with the confidential unsolicited cash-and-shares buyout offer made in mid-July highlighted differences between his perspective as a director who is also a large shareholder and the rest of the board.

Aurora Cannabis Inc. Aurora Cannabis has signed a deal to acquire Mexican company Farmacias Magistrales for an undisclosed price. The deal to buy the pharmaceutical manufacturer and distributor follows an agreement last week that saw Aurora partner with the company. It says Farmacias recently became Mexico’s first federally licensed importer of raw materials containing THC. Aurora says Farmacias plans to use imported THC and CBD concentrates to produce various cannabis oil products for the medical market.
