Regional Police say a motorcyclist was seriously hurt in a crash with a vehicle in Waterloo on Saturday.

It happened near Weber and Lincoln Streets, as the motorcyclist was exiting the Bridgeport Plaza.

Police say the impact of the collision caused the man to become dislodged from his motorcycle, and projected over the hood of the car.

A 61-year-old man was first taken to a local hospital, but then transferred to a hospital in Hamilton for further treatment.

The intersection was shut down for several hours as police investigated.
