Sanctuary Refugee Health Centre in Kitchener looking to expand

A local health care clinic, which focuses solely on refugees, is looking to expand.

The Sanctuary Refugee Health Centre, which is located by the Kitchener Farmer’s Market on King Street, is today launching a $100,000 fundraising drive.

The clinic offers an array of services to newcomers in our community ranging from medical care and trauma counselling to social supports – all with language supports.

Clinic founder, Dr. Mike Stephenson, says “Combining all these services under one roof improves the quality of patient care. We can serve these people more efficiently, more effectively and with more dignity.”

The fundraising campaign is aimed at not just expanding the existing location, but also re-purposing the space to make it more efficient.
