The Ontario Liberals have released their support to make an Ottawa-area MPP their Interim Leader.
Ottawa South MPP John Fraser has been endorsed unanimously by the Liberal caucus, and have called upon the voting body — made up of the Ontario Liberal caucus, Presidents of those constituency associations that are not represented by members of the Ontario Liberal Caucus, and members to the Executive Council — to vote on the matter in the next 24 hours.
Former Premier Dalton McGuinty represented Ottawa South from 1990 to 2013.
This comes after Kathleen Wynne stepped down as leader following a crushing defeat in the June 7th provincial election.
