WRPS receive reports of yelling male with ‘sword’ near Kitchener school

An alarming incident for students at Wilson Avenue Public School in Kitchener.
Police were called around 10 o’clock Monday morning after reports that a man was circling the school – yelling, and holding what appeared to be a sword.
Officers arrived and tracked down the suspect just off school property, and determined he was actually holding a leather belt.
The male was arrested and faces several charges. No other information about his identity has been released.
