A great weekend of music and fun is anticipated with the Ever After music festival, starting this Friday.
But Kitchener city council is hopeful organizers obey the two bylaws put in place earlier this year.
One of them restricts the festival from having sound over 55 decibels, something organizers previously said will be addressed with new technology.
The other restricts the festival from going later than 9:00 p.m. Sunday night, and whether organizers still intend to go over that limit remains a mystery.
Ward 1 Councillor Scott Davey says the city fully intends to fine the festival if they break either bylaw.
Earlier this year, head organizer Gabriel Mattacchione commented that they intend to go over the 9 p.m. threshold.
And the schedule on their website indicates those plans are still in place.
Excision is scheduled to perform Sunday night from 8:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
In an email sent to 570 NEWS Tuesday morning, a spokesperson for the organizers say they refuse to comment on either of the bylaw issues ahead of the festival.
