It’s a walk in the bark! The Wiggle Waggle Walkathon goes today at Bingemans

Put your best paw forward! It’s the annual Wiggle Waggle Walkathon in support of the KW Humane Society.

You and your four-legged friend are invited to take part in the biggest fundraising event of the year at it’s new location at Bingemans in Kitchener.

Funds raised through the Wiggle Waggle Walkathon will go towards supporting the animals and the community programs the KW Humane Society runs throughout the year.

Community Engagement Manager with the KW Humane Society, Cristina Strub, says the organization doesn’t receive any government funding so they rely on the support and generosity of the community to help give animals in need in a second chance.

“One animal costs us approximately 30 dollars in just basic care and then any additional on top of that is quite a bit of money. Really without the KW community we couldn’t keep our doors open.”

Strub adds that even if you don’t have a pet you can still come out and enjoy activities such as the Timbercreek Communities Lure Course for your pet, the Ren’s Pets Depot Kid’s Fun Zone, an ‘Ask the Experts’ booth, as well as vendors.
