Mark Pare - 570 NEWS

Another Sunday afternoon home game for the Kitchener Panthers (4-2).

They play host to the Burlington Herd (0-5) at Jack Couch Park, searching for their fourth win in a row.

The Panthers are coming off a 9-7 win over Toronto Thursday night.

Outfielder Tanner Nivins has been a thorn in the side of IBL hurlers this year.

He has 11 hits on 18 at bats, good for a .611 batting average which is the second best in the league.

The Kitchener native is also one of seven IBL batters with five walks on the year.

Coming into the day, the Panthers sit a game behind the Barrie Baycats (4-0) and Toronto Maple Leafs (5-1).

This afternoon’s game at Jack Couch gets underway just after 2:00 p.m.
