Guelph Police looking for 27-year-old female after speeding incident

A Guelph Police officer was trying to catch speeding drivers when he got more than he expected.

The officer was hiding behind a barrier when he noticed a car driving well over the speed limit.

An attempt to pull the vehicle over was made, however the car failed to stop, and the officer claims their safety was also put in danger as the car sped off.

Authorities later identified the driver of the vehicle as 27-year old Krista Strobbe.

Constable Chris Probst with the Guelph Police says Strobbe is facing a number of charges.

“A warrant has been placed for her arrest for the charges of dangerous driving, assault with a weapon and flight from police.”

Probst says if you ever come into contact with Strobbe or any other criminal, you should never approach them.

“There’s no value in putting your own safety at risk. This is what we do for a living and we will take care of the apprehension.”

If you have any information on Strobbe’s whereabouts, you’re asked to call Guelph Police Service at (519) 824-1212 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or at www.csgw.tips.
