Kitchener’s Stampede Corral to close in June

The end of an era for the Stampede Corral in Kitchener, as the nighttime staple will officially close its doors next month after 35 years.

The Corral on Stirling Avenue has been in business since June of 1983, and in a Facebook post, the owner says the announcement comes with a heavy heart.

“The Corral will turn 35 next month, which in itself is a marvel – to be an independent nightclub in KW for that long. We wish we could have kept the ship upright, but it wasn’t meant to be.”

The owner goes on to cite financial and landlord discrepancies, but says the Corral will be open every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday until its final day.

The Stampede has been one of Kitchener’s most popular country bars for over three decades, and will shut its doors for good on Saturday, June 16th.
