Human remains found at Cambridge home, foul play not suspected

Waterloo Regional Police say human remains have been found at a home on Riverbank Drive, south of the Grand River, in Cambridge.

Shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Inspector Mike Haffner made the announcement, but did note foul play is not suspected.

Police say just after 2:00 p.m., they received a call from the homeowners saying they had discovered some human remains while some excavation work was taking place on their property.

Both a forensic archaeologist and anthropologist were on scene and confirmed the remains to be from a human.

There is no update on how long the remains have been at the scene.

A forensic team is still investigating the situation with the support of Regional Police.
