Man pleads guilty to manslaughter for killing his father in a long-term care home in Kitchener

A man will soon find out his sentence for killing his father in a long-term care home in Kitchener.

A Crown Prosecutor in the case of 33-year old Adam McCabe says he pleaded guilty to manslaughter in court yesterday for the death of Morgan McCabe in March of 2016.

Court heard McCabe could not bear to see his father in deteriorating health, and killed his father by stuffing a towel down his throat.

This was at the AR Goudie long-term care home.

The original charge was second-degree murder.

The Crown tells 570 NEWS they are seeking ten years behind bars for McCabe.

The judge is scheduled to hand down McCabe’s sentence on May 2.

570 NEWS has reached out to McCabe’s defense lawyer, but has had no reply so far.
