Regional Police arrest man after negotiations on roof of Cambridge Mill

Charges are pending against a man after several hours of negotiations atop the Cambridge Mill.

Waterloo Regional Police Inspector John Goodman tells 570 NEWS they responded to a break and enter at the restaurant,

“Once officers arrived, (police) located a male who had entered the building, and perched himself up on top of the chimney,” he said, “The male was despondent, suicidal.”

He adds after a long negotiation, the man surrendered.

He’s been sent to Cambridge Memorial Hospital for an assessment.

No name has been released.
