Overnight construction closes Hwy 8 on-ramp to the 401 east

A heads up for motorists.
Highway 8 eastbound to the 401 eastbound will be shutting down overnight Friday for ongoing construction in the area.
Starting at 7 p.m., one lane on Highway 8 eastbound will be closed until 11 p.m. followed by the full closure of the Highway 8 eastbound ramp to the 401 until 7 Saturday morning.
The ramp closure is part of the ongoing widening of the 401 to 10 lanes between Highway 8 and Hespeler Rd.
As part of that overnight construction, the Ministry of Transportation will also have the right lane on the 401 eastbound closed between King St E/Shantz Hill to Franklin from 10 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday.
