Road work season about to get underway in Waterloo Region

There is a total of 34 major road construction projects scheduled for Waterloo Region in the spring.

The work spans all three cities and the townships.

11 of the projects require a full road closure.

One major project is the Franklin Boulevard replacement that will start this spring and wrap up in the fall.

It will include two separate weekend 401 closures.

There is some good news for Uptown Waterloo.

Major construction scheduled for King Street between Bridgeport Road and University Avenue is being held off until next year.

There will still be some minor work done to finish streetscaping and install bike lanes between Erb Street and Bridgeport Road.
