Rangers take pair in U18 draft, trio of Waterloo Wolves selected

The Kitchener Rangers’ front office was busy Wednesday night with the second annual Under-18 Priority Selection.

The blueshirts nabbed two players for the future, including defenseman Dakota Betts went 17th overall.

Betts is from Bowmanville, and skated this season with the Clarington Toros.

With the 37th overall pick, the Rangers got centreman Anthony Pinelli. The Stoney Creek product played in Niagara Falls this season.

As well, three Waterloo Wolves heard their name called.

Goaltender Riley McCabe went to the London Knights 14th overall, right winger Jacob Code was taken 32nd overall by the Niagara IceDogs.

And defenseman David Mabey was picked up by the Guelph Storm with the 44th overall selection.
