Hold and secure lifted at Queen Elizabeth PS in Kitchener

A bit of a scary situation for staff and students at Queen Elizabeth Public School in Kitchener, as a brief hold and secure was put into effect.

The Waterloo Region District School Board says a hold and secure was issued Thursday morning around 11:15 a.m. – and Regional Police were called to the scene.

Through the course of the investigation, parents and caregivers were asked to refrain from calling the school – as staff were busy ensuring the students’ safety.

Around 12:40 p.m., the hold and secure was lifted – and the school day will continue as normal.

Regional Police confirm to 570 NEWS there is no threat to the school or public safety.
