Hospice donation announced at Waterloo mayor’s State of the City address

Waterloo Mayor Dave Jaworsky delivered his annual State of the City address on Wednesday morning at RIM Park and received a standing ovation at the end.
He announced a $2.5-million donation for Hospice Waterloo from the Gies family.
“Cancer has been quite dominant in our families and it’s just our way of trying to give back.” said Bill Gies.
