Cambridge man killed in fire being remembered as a loving dad

A Cambridge man killed in a house fire last week in Hespeler is being remembered by family and friends as a loving dad to a son and daughter.

A memorial and tribute wall has gone up at the home at 148 Queen Street East.

32-year-old Robert Briere is being remembered in letters and notes, red roses and a stuffed Smurf doll, left at the fire scene over the weekend.

A funeral announcement mentions Briere also lost his dog the Thursday morning fire.

The Ontario Fire Marshal’s office continues to probe the blaze.

The house was gutted with damage set in the $300,000 range.

A family of three got out of the bungalow safely. Briere was living in the basement of the home.
