Kitchener speedster nearly evades police twice, faces multiple charges

A Kitchener speedster faces a number of charges after refusing to stop for police twice on Wednesday afternoon.

Officers spotted a Honda Civic driving 93 km/h in a 50 km/h zone at Bingemans Centre Drive and Victoria Street around 12:30 p.m.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but the suspect behind the wheel continued to drive in a dangerous manner – forcing officers to call off the pursuit due to public safety.

Just a short time later, another officer saw the Honda in the Ottawa and River Road area – and the driver once again tried to speed away.

Luckily, police stopped the car in a nearby parking lot – and arrested the driver.

A 28-year-old Kitchener man faces numerous charges, including flight from police and dangerous driving.
