GRT wants you to know how your bus route will change when the ION LRT begins

When it opens for travel, the ION LRT system will change almost everything about getting around the Region, and Grand River Transit wants their passengers to be ready.

GRT today is hosting the first of several public information sessions about how bus routes will change when LRT service begins.

Manager of Transit Development, John Cicuttin says LRT will soon be doing most of the heavy lifting.

He agrees it will be like LRT is the spine of the system, and the bus routes will be like the ribs.

Cicuttin says some bus routes will disappear altogether, like Route 11 through the Country Hills area, to be replaced with a different route.

Other bus routes will be greatly improved, including to Connestoga College.

Today’s information session is at Wilfrid Laurier, at the Fred Nichols Campus Centre, on now until 7:00 p.m.
