Rangers to face Guelph in opening round of playoffs

The Battle of Highway 7 will last at least seven more games this season.

Kitchener and Guelph will face off in the opening round of the OHL playoffs. Game 1 goes Friday at 7:30 p.m. at The Aud. The pre-game show starts at 7 p.m. on 570 NEWS.

The Rangers finished second in the Western Conference, Guelph dropped to seventh following Windsor’s 3-2 win over Saginaw on Sunday.

Kitchener ended the regular season with three straight losses, two of those were against the Storm.

Here is the rest of their opening round schedule:

Game 2 Sunday, March 25 at Kitchener 7 p.m.

Game 3 Tuesday, March 27 at Guelph 7 p.m.

Game 4 Wednesday, March 28 at Guelph 7 p.m.

Taking a look at the other match-ups in the West: The Soo Greyhounds face Saginaw, Sarnia will take on Windsor and Owen Sound gets London.

Hamilton finished first in the East, the Bulldogs get Ottawa in the first round, Barrie is matched up against Mississauga, Kingston will battle North Bay and it will be Niagara vs. Oshawa.
