Rangers drop final road game in shootout with Sting

The Kitchener Rangers finished the road portion of their regular season schedule with 21 wins.

Sarnia avoided being swept in the season series with a 4-3 shootout victory on Wednesday night. The Rangers won the first three meetings of the season.

Jordan Ernst would score the shootout winner in the fourth round.

Logan Brown, Logan Stanley and Kole Sherwood were the goal scorers for Kitchener. For Sherwood, it was his 30th goal of the season. He potted 33 with Flint last season.

“Well, after our last game, it will be, I believe 11 games in 22 days. Finishing that stretch 4 and 6 with guys who have been sick, guys have been hurt…It will be nice to get that one over, hopefully
finish the right way, then give the guys a little bit of rest before we dial in for playoffs.” said Rangers head coach Jay McKee.

Kitchener hosts Guelph in their final regular season game on Friday. 570 NEWS has the pre-game show at 7 p.m.

They will open the playoffs at home on Friday, March 23rd. Their first round opponent will likely not be finalized until the weekend.
