The SIU says it can not investigate reports of a man being hurt during an arrest at the University of Guelph — if that man is not willing to talk about it.
Campus police arrested a 22-year old last November and turned him over to Guelph Police.
Just a few weeks ago, that man told police he had been hurt during the arrest.
The Special Investigations Unit was notified and they contacted the man’s lawyer.
In a statement, the SIU says the lawyer told them the man would not neither grant an interview, nor disclose the nature of his injuries.
So – the SIU has cancelled their investigation.
