Driver injured after road rage incident in Centre Wellington

A scary case of road rage in the Township of Centre Wellington sent a driver to the hospital.

OPP say it happened around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday on Beatty Line near Sideroad 15.

The victim pulled over to the side of the road to shake off a ‘tailgaiter’ – but the suspect vehicle followed suit, and two men got out of the vehicle.

One of the men began yelling profanities and allegedly grabbed the victim, threw them down on the ground, and assaulted them.

Police say the victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries, and both suspects drove away before officers arrived.

The incident is described as “isolated”, and police continue to try and track down those involved.

Suspect #1 is described as being white, in his early 30s, has black hair, a beard and a moustache. He was last seen wearing a black winter coat, blue jeans, and a black toque.

Suspect #2 is described as being a tall white male.

Both men took off in a dark car – possibly an older model Honda Civic.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-112 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
