Stretch of College Avenue in Guelph closed Thursday after water main break

A water main break in Guelph has shut down a busy stretch of road near their University.
Steve Anderson with the City’s Transportation Services says it’s at the intersection of College Avenue and Lang Way.
“It used to be called Powerhouse Lane – it’s just beside Alumni Stadium, and is a piece of University infrastructure.”
Anderson says College will remain closed for the remainder of Thursday as a result.
“It’ll be closed until about midnight on February 1st, and should reopen for the morning commute Friday.”
In the meantime, pedestrian access will be maintained around the closure.
Crews are still working to determine the cause of the break, and anyone living in that area may experience some water disruptions.
