Crook in Cambridge could not out run his own tracks

Police in Cambridge followed some fresh tracks in the snow that led directly to the feet of a suspect.

Regional Police say they received a call last night just after 11:00 p.m. about a man attempting break into several houses and cars in the Galt area of Cambridge.

Responding officers found tracks in the snow near one of the targeted houses.

Police followed the tracks in the snow through a backyard and found a man hiding behind a shed.

A 28-year-old man is now in custody facing 29 charges including six counts of attempt break and enter, six counts of attempt theft from motor vehicle, eight counts of trespassing at night, three counts of theft of mail, three counts of possession of stolen property, two counts of breach of probation and possession of break-In instruments.
