Two people from Brampton have been charged after they allegedly assaulted a bus driver in Guelph.

Officers were called around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday after a couple boarded a GO bus at the downtown transit hub, but didn’t provide the adequate funds.

When the driver said something, they spat on them and struck them in the face.

The driver received medical attention, and sustained facial injuries which are described as ‘more than minor’.

The two suspects were later tracked down and arrested on another GO Transit bus in the Royal City.

A 19-year-old man and 17-year-old girl have been charged with assault.
