Province announces $2.3 million in funding to help fight local opioid addiction

Our provincial government has announced funding to help prevent local opioid addiction and overdoses.
MPPs Kathryn McGarry and Daiene Vernile were both on hand to announce more than $2.3 million in funding for the Waterloo Wellington Local Health Integration Network.
That money is part of a $222 million commitment towards Ontario’s Strategy to Prevent Opioid Addiction and Overdose.
Through the funding announced Thursday, $1.3 million will specifically go towards Waterloo Region, and $971,000 will go towards Guelph.

- Grand River Hospital – Total Funding: $59,900
- eHealth Centre of Excellence – Total Funding: $75,000
- Canadian Mental Health Association – Total Funding: $390,000
- House of Friendship – Total Funding: $809,800
- Homewood – Total Funding: $85,000
- Guelph Community Health Centre – Total Funding: $175,000
- Stonehenge Therapeutic Community – Total Funding: $711,000
