Canada 150 mural set to be revealed in Kitchener on Saturday

A piece of art in Kitchener hopes to help celebrate our country’s 150th birthday.

The Neruda Arts ‘Canada 150’ mural on Charles Street will be unveiled on Saturday.

It aims to highlight our sense of belonging, social justice, and respect for cultural diversity here in Canada.

The project was led by a team of local and international professional artists, and over 150 members of our community also came together to help make the piece.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., and will feature keynote speakers and musical performances.

Organizers say the event is happening on Charles between Cedar and Cameron, but it will be moved to the Kitchener Market if there are poor weather conditions.
