Cyclist loses balance, falls into the Speed River in Guelph

A scary situation for a cyclist in Guelph after they lost balance, and fell into the Speed River.

Guelph Police say it happened just before noon on Thursday near the Arthur Street railway overpass.

A 26-year-old man was riding his bike along the tracks, when he somehow lost control, and fell into the river.

Police, fire and EMS were called to help rescue the man.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
