A Kitchener man has been found dead after a boating incident in a small northern Ontario community.

OPP say 58-year-old Bruce Milne was reported missing by a friend, after he left a cabin on Lake Kindogen in Wawa in an aluminium boat late last Thursday night, and didn’t come back.

Milne’s body was recovered on the shore of the lake Sunday afternoon, after a search that involved several first responders.

“We sent the Marine Unit to search the perimeter of the lake,” says Constable Levis Brousseau. “That’s when Mr. Milne was located.”

It’s not known if Milne was wearing a life jacket.

The cause of death is still under investigation.
