Laurier Golden Hawks welcome rivals Western Mustangs Saturday

The Laurier Golden Hawks will welcome arch rival Western Mustangs into University Stadium Saturday afternoon for its homecoming game.

After a Yates Cup final last year that saw the Golden Hawks stun the Western Mustangs, you can say this game has been circled on everyones calendar for a long time.

That rivalry will continue this afternoon as the #4 nationally ranked Mustangs will take on the #5 nationally ranked Laurier Golden Hawks.

Head Coach Michael Faulds tells 570 NEWS the Mustangs are coming into this one seeking revenge.

“We’re telling our players it’s not just another game. Obviously they’re going to come in here for revenge,” says Faulds. “And it’s more than just a win or a loss in the standings. This has play-off seeding implications.”

Two undefeated teams will kickoff at 1 p.m., at University Stadium, and at the end of the game one of the teams will go home with a blemish on its record.
