Cambridge groom saves boy from water at Victoria Park, photos go viral

It was certainty a wedding day to remember for Clay and Brittany Cook.

The couple were in the middle of a photo shoot in Victoria Park, when a young boy suddenly fell in the water.

It was at that point that Clay took action.

Brittany describes how her husband heroically pulled the boy from the water.

“So he jumped down to the rock ledge, and he reached out and told the kid to grab his hand, and he was just able to grab him by the wrist and pull him right out of the water.”

Darren Hatt was the photographer on scene, he says just how quickly everything unfolded.

“About as quickly as I turned around, it was almost over. It just goes to show how quickly he jumped into action.”

Hatt still had time to snap a few images, that have since gone viral.

“As soon as I turned around it was just about over and done with, I just took a few snaps, and a couple of them turned out”

Brittany says since the incident, her husband Clay has recieved quite the attention, some even calling him a hero.

“People are literally look at it like Clay is a hero, to us it is just what anyone would do in that situation.”
